Welcome,
The Breast Cancer Recurrence Consortium (BCRC) is a nationwide and multidiscplinary consortium including oncological surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and pathologists.
Isolated locoregional breast cancer recurrence is defined as relapse of disease in ipsilateral breast, chest wall, axilla, infraclavicular, supraclavicular or parasternal lymph nodes.[1] Estimated incidence is 0,5-1,5% per year, with a total incidence of 5-10% in 10-year follow-up.[2] Per year 2.3 million people are diagnosed with breast cancer[3], therefore the number of patients diagnosed with locoregional breast cancer recurrence is substantial. However, there are no clear guidelines.
Our aim is to gain insight in questions regarding locoregional breast cancer recurrence to achieve optimilization of multimodality treatment of the individual patient and implementation in guidelines.
